Integrating faith and service
The University seeks to cultivate in its students not only an appreciation for the great achievements of human beings but also a disciplined sensibility to the poverty, injustice and oppression that burden the lives of so many. The aim is to create a sense of human solidarity and concern for the common good that will bear fruit as learning becomes service to justice. —University of Notre Dame Mission Statement.

Within the Division of Student Affairs, we support this mission through partnership with the Center for Social Concerns (CSC) as well as through a variety of student clubs and organizations under the auspices of the Student Activities Office. In the residence halls, community service commissioners work closely with the CSC to create opportunities for students to engage in service-learning and volunteer activities locally, nationally, and globally.
The Center for Social Concerns of the University of Notre Dame facilitates community-based learning, research, and service informed by Catholic Social Tradition. Through the Center, learning becomes service to justice. To find out more about the Center for Social Concerns, please visit their web site: http://socialconcerns.nd.edu/
