Student life

The University of Notre Dame offers its students a rich experience of campus life. Community, faith, friendship, service, and intellectual engagement are hallmarks of student life at Notre Dame. These ideals are nurtured within the residence halls, and a number of Student Affairs departments and organizations contribute significantly to students’ college experiences. Opportunities abound for students to serve as leaders, to develop their faith, to engage in cultural events, to get involved in the dynamic and vibrant experience of being a student at the University of Notre Dame.
Student Activities Office
The Student Activities Office has well over 300 student clubs and organizations. Its mission is to enhance the overall educational experience of students and to serve the campus community through development of, exposure to, participation in, and assistance with intellectual, spiritual, cultural, recreational, social, leadership, and employment opportunities.

The Student Activities Office also fosters an environment which values differences, the freedom of expression and the holistic development of students.
Student Union Board
SUB is, in its own words, “the branch of student government that gets things done and has fun doing it.” SUB provides undergraduate student services and social, intellectual, and cultural opportunities that respond to the needs and wants of the student body.

Gender Relations Center
The Gender Relations Center (GRC) was founded to create a healthier climate for women and men at the University of Notre Dame. Committed to the spiritual, emotional and intellectual development of all students, the GRC is a place where both women and men can engage in respectful dialogue and explore issues of identity, relationships and equality.
International Student Services & Activities
International Student Services and Activities is responsible for providing programs, immigration services, and a host of other support services to the international student community. The office strives to create a supportive atmosphere where students can live and learn effectively, and promotes international programs as a means of stimulating cross-cultural understanding and interest.

Multicultural Student Programs & Services
Multicultural Student Programs & Services administers programs and services specifically designed to assist in the retention and success of traditionally underrepresented students. MSPS offers opportunities for cultural expression, advising, mentoring, diversity training, and a variety of programs designed to enhance the conversation about multicultural issues among all students at the University.
Campus Ministry
Campus Ministry provides students with abundant ways to develop and nurture their faith. From retreats to Theology on Tap to Iron Sharpens Iron, CM offers a host of opportunities for students to worship, to learn, to serve as peer leaders, and to have fun.

Core Council for Gay and Lesbian Students
The Core Council for Gay and Lesbian Students provides information and resources for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and questioning students, as well as educational programming on issues surrounding homosexuality.
