What was your first impression of ND when you arrived on campus?

Initially overwhelmed by the new college experience, I eventually found comfort among my new Notre Dame family.

What are your favorite things about student life at ND?

I especially enjoy the spirit of the student body and their willingness to try their best to ensure that everyone feels welcome on campus. Knowing there’s always a place on campus to feel like you can be yourself helps make my time at ND most enjoyable.

What prompted you to choose Theatre as a major?

I spent many years training as an actor before I came to ND, especially during my high school years. With such a strong interest in theatre, my major came naturally, especially after visiting the wonderful facilities that the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center offers!

Extra-curricular involvement:

All of my spare time goes, not surprisingly, to department productions. The extra-curricular shows I participate in require intense rehearsal and training. Outside of that, though, I am the Co-Chair of the Core Council for Gay and Lesbian Students and I take great pride in helping to make the University welcoming for all students, regardless of their sexuality.

What do you think makes ND unique from other universities?

Notre Dame presents students with many opportunities to grow and learn from each other. The most distinguishing factor emerges in the sense of family and community between the students and their peers. ND essentially becomes one of the greatest places to find lifelong and devoted friends.

What are some of the things you enjoy about living in the residence hall?

As a resident of O’Neill Hall, I can honestly say that living on campus has been a wonderful experience. I really enjoy residence life due to the welcoming nature of O’Neill and our sense of brotherhood. I have never felt uncomfortable living on campus, and I’ve definitely had a lot of fun in my dorm.

Do you have any words of wisdom to offer an incoming ND student?

Don’t limit yourself to what you already know. Take Notre Dame as an opportunity to learn about other people’s views and especially to learn more about your own. Use the time here as a great way to expand upon your sense of the world, and always be willing to lead by example.
