Bringing a wealth of experience in the field of education, Ed Mack joined the Notre Dame family in 2002 as the rector of O’Neill Hall. Ed has served as the Assistant Principal and Dean of Men at St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio. He has taught English at several high schools in Indiana and Kentucky and has spent thirty-three years in Catholic secondary education. During those years, he has had experience in administration, supervision of teachers, discipline of students, coordination of clubs and activities, and retreat work.

Before receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Louisville in 1972, Ed attended Holy Cross College. He then earned his Master of Arts degree in Education in 1986 from Baldwin-Wallace College in Ohio. He sees his role as rector as not only one of practical responsibilities, but more importantly as one of helping in the formation of family and communal life.
