What was your first impression of ND when you arrived on campus?

When I came to visit ND I thought the campus was beautiful and everyone seemed really nice. When I arrived in August for orientation I was greeted by a group of upperclasswomen from my dorm and they were really enthusiastic and kind. Starting with Frosh-O and through meeting my teammates everyone was really friendly and I felt like I was part of something special, which was perfect for me because I think being part of a community is very important.

What are your favorite things about student life at ND?

I like going to the dining hall and seeing friends and talking to them or hanging out watching movies. I love football games and tailgating and going to different events on campus.

What prompted you to choose Science Pre-Professional as a major?

Ever since I was really young, I always saw my mom helping people because she had gone through medical school and she was very knowledgeable about illnesses and the proper way to deal with them and I was really influenced by her. After I finish college and medical school I want to become a pediatrician and do some missionary work overseas.

Extra-curricular involvement:

I'm currently on the varsity fencing team and I'm planning to participate more actively in FCA this semester.

What do you think makes ND unique from other universities?

I think the people here are very different and it could be because we are a Catholic university, but still I feel the people here, at least the people I've met and shared time with, are very special and have a strong character, which I didn't see at the other universities I visited.

What are some of the things you enjoy about living in the residence hall?

I like its size because it reminds me of a large house, which makes it feel more cozy. I also like going to Mass and our mascot (the duck).

Do you have any words of wisdom to offer an incoming ND student?

Take advantage of everything offered here.
