What was your first impression of ND when you arrived on campus?

It was absolutely gorgeous; I was overwhelmed but it grew on me quickly. I could not believe that I was a part of this university. It was and still is a lot to take in. I was a little apprehensive at first, but I quickly overcame all fears and loved every bit of ND.

What are your favorite things about student life at ND?

The best thing about student life for me are the friendships that I have made. I cannot believe how many amazing people I have met and I sincerely feel blessed that I have been given the opportunity to be at this University with all these great people.

Extra-curricular involvement:

I'm doing a lot of dorm-oriented things, like the Keenan Revue and Muddy Sunday. But I'm also getting involved with the Appalachia Seminar trip and Habitat for Humanity.

What do you think makes ND unique from other universities?

I think the tradition and the dedicated students/faculty/ and staff of the University creates a very unique atmosphere. This place has an aura that screams unity. I feel like I'm a part of something much bigger than I can imagine. It's just the spirit of the Irish I guess.

What are some of the things you enjoy about living in the residence hall?

I feel that the single-sex dorms create a sort of brotherhood. They are so much better than any other dorm or fraternity in the world. They create a deep sense of unity and pride that cannot be explained. I've tried telling my friends at other universities about the dorm life, but they just cannot comprehend how amazing it is.

Do you have any words of wisdom to offer an incoming ND student?

If I could give advice to an incoming student, I'd have to say don't be shy, you've just joined an amazing family and the legacy continues with you. You're about to begin the best years of your life at the best school possible. Be yourself, and live every day to it's fullest because you will never have better experiences than here at ND.
